Starglaze Halo

Lore

A tired wishing star fell into Mochi’s pink donut toy. It could have chosen a mountain. It chose frosting. Mochi understood the decision.

She lay beside the little spark and purred until it warmed. Then she wished that everyone she loved could find home. The bright sprinkles woke one by one. Soon more wishes arrived, and the donut around her neck began to feel heavier than a donut had any right to feel.

Miso helped her share the weight. The ring became a smaller pendant, still full of light but no longer asking one small cat to carry every worry in the sky. Mochi could care for someone without becoming responsible for the whole universe before breakfast.

Later, when the Halo vanished into the desert worlds, she kept healing without it. They found it in a museum and brought it back through Everspring. It was good to have an old companion home. It was also good to remember which part of the kindness had been Mochi all along.
