A little elsewhere.
By the time the last leaf reached the ground, Miso had decided that autumn was being wasteful. All that good light, and the sun kept taking it home. Mochi brought a bottle. This was the first useful contribution to the meeting.
They gathered the amber hour in frosted crystal and held it with a little polished bone and one curved piece of horn. A small flower stayed on the cord. It had no plans for winter. Neither, after inspecting a warm patch on the floor, did Mochi.
Gather Autumn sits on the special shelf beside Solstice Ember. One keeps the evening before the cold; the other keeps the warmth after it arrives. Miso calls this careful planning. Mochi calls it two excellent places to nap.
