Berlin, 1989 · midnight underground rave
Cool / violet / resinous
A cool breath through the blue-lit Berlin fog.
Powdery violet catching one small laser beam.
A restrained smoky ribbon above the bass line.
Warm resin under the cold lights. The floor stays awake.
Mint slips through the club fog. Violet catches the blue light; incense and amber keep a little heat beneath it. The last train has gone. For once, this seems like useful information.

BEHIND THE EDITION
By midnight, Miso had located the booth and Mochi had located the volume. Berlin, 1989, seemed to be managing perfectly well until two cats volunteered to improve it. Miso lowered her Cybermizo visor. Mochi put one paw on a record and discovered a new use for refusing to move.
Lasers drew temporary constellations through the fog. The bottle keeps a little of that light behind clear glass: a calm lavender glow, two familiar faces above the spray, and a whistle on a pink cord. Miso considered the whistle unnecessary. Mochi considered that an excellent reason to keep it.
