The little gold Laserdots cartridge continues making noises after the screen goes dark. Miso suspects an electrical fault. Mochi suspects a population. Mochi is correct, which is inconvenient for the electrical explanation.

Under its smoky shell, circuits glow like roads at night. The sisters press Start together. The label opens onto neon forests, impossible skyways, and small figures waving from places a cartridge should not contain.

Each rescued friend knows a different way forward. A wall becomes climbable. A gap becomes crossable. Miso and Mochi discover that being very good at two things does not mean being good at every thing. The growing company fills in the useful missing parts.

Far inside, one red light holds their last safe moment. When the journey goes wrong, they can begin from there together. Outside, the cartridge still fits in a paw. The sisters have become cautious about calling anything small before checking who lives inside it.
